Thoughts in My Head

Rotring 600 Drafting Pencil Review

This is a Rotring 600 0.5mm drafting pencil.I purchased from Jetpens for about $30.00.

Rotring 600 0.6mm Drafting Pencil

It arrived on Saturday and I have been using it ever since. I first heard of this pencil years ago, while listening to Myke Hurley talk about it on the Penaddict imagine My first thought when he started talking about it was no pencil is worth $30.00. I can tell you without a second thought that the Rotring 600 is worth the $30.00. It has an hexagonal brass body, which gives it the right amount of weight to have a quality feel. I like that the clip is neither too loose or too tight. I also like that is placed down near the bottom of the body, so it is not in the way when I grip the pencil. The tip of the pencil where the lead comes out is thin, making it great for getting right next to rulers or in other tight spots. I have been playing around with the lead indicator and am still trying to figure out what shade and hardness of lead I prefer.

I do wish there was a way to protect the tip when I store the pencil and I had more choices in colors. However that being said, this is my first quality mechanical pencil and I am very happy with it.
