If you can get it I recommend watching the Independent Lensepisode is called Mr Soul!. The episode was about a program called Soul! which was a program which ran from 1968-1973 on early educational television NET, which would later become PBS. It was targeted specifically toward a Black audience. There were interviews with African-American leaders of that period. Jazz was played along with Soul and R&B. There was also poetry reading and dance. Just be aware there is some inappropriate language for the most appropriate reason
