Hucksters Then and Now
I was having a case of deja vu while reading The Haunting History of a Huckster’s “Cancer Cure. It is the story of Norman Baker, a man who promoted and sold questionable cures in the 1920s and 1930s. His miracle cures included watermelon seed extracts, corn silk, and clover. He used the radio station that he owned KTNT (Know the Naked Truth), to promote his cure, slander his enemies and denigrate the mainstream medical establishment. Does this story sound familiar to you too?
