Thoughts in My Head

Worst Hard Time- A Review

The Worst Hard Time- A Book Review The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan published in 2021 is about the settlement and abuse of the High Plains and those who remained there during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. My favorite person was Dan Hartwell and his diary. It made everything more personal and real. The images draw in my head around the description of Black Sunday will not soon be forgotten. In the end this is a story about man’s hubris, but it’s also about hope and courage. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interest in 20th century U.S. history and especially the Great Depression.
